Arriving in Prague - 8 September

Wow. What a stunning city.  We arrived to perfect weather, and a friendly cab driver at the airport.  Luckily we had enough local currency for the quoted fare, as the taxi did not take credit card.  Apparently this is quite common and taxis will give you a quote for your destination rather than run meter.  If you don't have cash you don't have much choice.  It cost us 800 Czech Koruna ($50AUD) for 30 minute, 30 km ride from the airport.  Later though, Sam and Oakleigh were quoted 500 kn for a 9 minute fare.  We ended up using Uber for these short trips paying 125kn for each of two trips, so we will be avoiding taxis wherever possible.

The airbnb is gorgeous, though the lift is a sometimes thing.  Thankfully it was in order when we first arrived and only had to carry bags up two sets of stairs rather than ten!
Ten sets of these is a challenge at the end of the day!

Our very own sauna!

Beautifully presented, though the sloping ceilings can make things a bit tricky

I felt the need to sample a local brew from the pizza place a couple of doors along.  This was the equivalent of $2.65 - cheaper than water :)
